Blair, a researcher couple explained the features of their book and said, “The main audiences of the book are ordinary readers who have no information about Islamic art and architecture. Therefore, the language of the texts is quiet simple.”
“The book is the most unabridged book written for Islamic art and architecture. Articles in “A” part suffice for a book. The encyclopedia is unique for a wide assortment of subjects and arts in Islamic culture,” they added.
“It took us about two years to publish the encyclopedia and we traveled from Morocco to China, visiting all historical and architectural monuments.”
Touching upon the teamwork, they said 250 people including the renowned researchers and artists in Islamic fields collaborated.
‘The Grove Encyclopedia of Islamic Art and Architecture’ was published in Oxford Publication, New York.
